The shooting began a few minutes before the start of the concert. According to eyewitnesses, gunfire from an automatic weapon initially erupted at the entrance of the hall, targeting a line of people, after which the shooting continued inside the hall.
Eyewitnesses say that the attack was likely carried out by a group of armed individuals. Following the shooting, a grenade or incendiary bomb was reportedly thrown into the building, igniting a fire.
The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has initiated a criminal case under the charge of a terrorist act.
"Death to death," - this was the response of Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, to the incident. All criminals should be identified and ruthlessly eliminated as terrorists, he said.
Mykhailo Podolyak, advisor to the head of the Presidential Office of Ukraine, stated that Kyiv has no connection to the incident.
Andriy Yusov, the representative of the Defense Ministry's main intelligence service of Ukraine, says that the shooting at Crocus City Hall is a deliberate provocation by Putin's regime, which the international community has warned about.
"The old Russian dictator Putin is starting to repeat himself. He began his political career with such crimes and is now trying to end it," said Andriy Yusov.
On March 7, a statement was published on the official website of the United States Embassy, urging Americans in Moscow to be especially cautious. According to the statement, "extremists" are planning to carry out attacks during mass events, including concerts, in Moscow.
