Furthermore, as stated by MP Levan Bezhashvili, an immediate investigation should be launched against Zviad Kharazishvili, also known as Kharaba, the Special Tasks Department director of the Internal Affairs Ministry, and his "group."
"In a normal country, the Internal Affairs Minister should be present, as should the public defender. Can anyone imagine that special forces would fail to recognize Levan Khabeishvili? He was deliberately and severely punished. The issue of the minister's responsibility will be raised. An investigation should be initiated against Khareba and his group," stated Bezhashvili, who was at the Ingorokva clinic.
The National Movement leaders stated that the severely beaten Levan Khabeishvili was brought to the clinic by a patrol police crew.
"There are eyewitnesses to the kidnapping of Levan Khabeishvili. He tried to help a young person affected by the special forces' actions. At that moment, the special forces attacked, kidnapped him, and punished him severely. This is clearly linked to the threat posed by the special forces head, Khareba, and his group. These are not special forces or policemen. They are Bidzina Ivanishvili's personal group. They are punitive groups that beat young people on the streets, individually pursue them, and, during previous actions, cursed Khabeishvili as a group. Now they have kidnapped and severely punished him. According to our information, they beat him, put him in a patrol car, brought him here, and then left. We don't know which crew brought him or who handed him over to them," said Levan Bezhashvili.
More than three hours have passed since information about Levan Khabeishvili's beating was spread; however, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has not commented on this matter until now.
Kakha Chelidze, the director of the Ingorokva clinic, stated that Levan Khabeishvili has broken nose bones that must be restored through non-surgical intervention. As for the eye damage, the doctor mentioned that the integrity of the eye is not disturbed, but it is necessary to consult an ophthalmologist.
