"In May, two delegations from the People's Republic of China visited us. One delegation is interested in the lead-zinc deposits of Kwais, and the other came to South Ossetia with a proposal to open a Chinese car assembly plant. We have not specified the brand [of the car] yet, but our delegation is going to visit the People's Republic of China in October, the conversation will continue, and we will discuss in more detail.
However, I would like to point out that any joint project will be implemented only after assessing the economic feasibility and efficiency for South Ossetia," Jusoev said.
At the end of April, the South Ossetia Republic state news agency, REC, reported that the vice president of "one of the largest Chinese investment corporations" was in Tskhinvali.
"We showed our deposits to our Chinese colleagues, specifically the Kvaisi deposit. They collected samples. This is our first meeting, more of an introductory nature, but at least there is interest. I believe that in the near future, there will be some proposals from the Chinese company, and we will cooperate," Konstantin Jusoev said at the time.
The name of the Chinese corporation interested in the Kvaisi field in the occupied Java region has not been disclosed. Jusoev only mentioned that it is engaged in the mining industry.
In May, Jusoev met with the head of the Chinese corporation Fujian Tianrun Yongshun Supply Chain in occupied Tskhinvali. According to information from the de facto government, the parties mainly discussed issues related to the automobile industry. The company produces cars under the Soueast, Yudo, and Qiteng brands.
