The statement from Evolution says that since August 1, the trade union has blocked the entrances to the company's buildings, depriving thousands of employees of the opportunity to work, which has disrupted the company's operations.
"This situation impairs Evolution Georgia's ability to operate effectively. Therefore, if the situation does not improve, the company will be forced to make operational changes, including the termination of employment contracts, to limit our presence in Georgia.
We have been investing in Georgia for six years, providing first job opportunities to inexperienced young people. However, the current situation has become an unfortunate reality that will affect both the company and the thousands of current Evolution employees who want to continue working here," the company's statement said.
According to the labor union, the company is using the "suspension of activity" to annoy employees and incite aggression against the strike organizers.
"Management continues to commit criminal acts and is now manipulating employees who are friendly to the company's management to turn against the strikers. Many of these employees worked during the strike period to undermine the protest and discredit the strikers. Our information suggests that Evolution Georgia is creating so-called Sonder groups to confront the strikers, including physically, in an attempt to create the impression that striking employees are being challenged by their colleagues," the trade union said.
Some employees of Evolution Georgia have been on strike since July 12, demanding improved working conditions and the dismissal of managers involved in bullying and harassment. The strike was preceded by the publication of screenshots showing the managers of Evolution Georgia mocking and insulting employees.
