The ruling party, Georgian Dream, has presented the top candidates on its electoral list for the parliamentary elections on October 26. Bidzina Ivanishvili, the party’s honorary chairman, is at the top of the list, while Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze is listed second.

Irakli Gharibashvili will be the third former Prime Minister and the Chairman of Georgian Dream on the election list. Olympic champions, weightlifter Lasha Talakhadze and wrestler Geno Petriashvili, are among the top ten candidates.

The parliamentary elections on October 26 will be held with a 5% threshold. Most parties are expected to participate with a single list. Voters will elect 150 deputies to the Parliament of Georgia for a four-year term, based on a proportional election system.
