Georgian Dream Unveils Election List, Ivanishvili Leads as First Candidate

The ruling party, Georgian Dream, has presented the top candidates on its electoral list for the parliamentary elections on October 26. Bidzina Ivanishvili, the party’s honorary chairman, is at the top of the list, while Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze is listed second.

Irakli Gharibashvili will be the third former Prime Minister and the Chairman of Georgian Dream on the election list. Olympic champions, weightlifter Lasha Talakhadze and wrestler Geno Petriashvili, are among the top ten candidates.

  11. Sozar Subari - People's Power Deputy, Member of the Parliamentary Majority
  12. Mariam Kvrivishvili - Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development
  13. Anri Okhanashvili - Chairman of the Legal Committee of the Parliament
  14. Nikoloz Samkharadze - Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Parliament
  15. Eka Chichinadze - Vice-President of the International Association of Women Artists
  16. Shota Berekashvili - Businessman, Owner of BK Holding LLC, Dual Citizen of Russia and Georgia
  17. Levan Makhashvili - Doctor of European Studies
  18. Mikheil Kavelashvili - People's Power Deputy, Member of the Parliamentary Majority

  20. Lika Shartava - Granddaughter of Juli Shartava, Psychologist, Public Relations Specialist

The parliamentary elections on October 26 will be held with a 5% threshold. Most parties are expected to participate with a single list. Voters will elect 150 deputies to the Parliament of Georgia for a four-year term, based on a proportional election system.
