- ‘‘Do you hope in your heart that Putin and Xi Jinping will ever be tried? This seems very far-fetched, Xi Jinping, for the genocide of the Uyghurs, and Vladimir Putin is accused not only of war crimes but of crimes against humanity. Is it your personal wish that these two people be tried, Putin of course, first of all, because it concerns you more,’’ LCI journalist asked the president.
- ‘‘I believe this would be a historic result, which would put certain things in their place. If you are asking me whether I think this is realistic? No.

- Because we live in the real world, where this kind of thing does not happen, not in Alice’s wonderland,’’ said Zourabichvili.
At the meeting with the ambassador of the People's Republic of China, Gharibashvili stressed that such a statement is categorically unacceptable and disturbing, and does not formally express the attitude of the Georgian government towards the Chinese state and its leader.
‘‘Such rhetoric contradicts the attitude of the Georgian government and the Georgian people towards China and does not correspond to the spirit of friendly, strategic partnership between the two countries,’’ according to the Prime Minister, this is not the first time that the President, in violation of the constitution and to the detriment of state interests, carries out separate activities and makes personal assessments of international issues, which are not in line with the position of the country's government, and which puts Georgia's international image in an embarrassing light.
The Prime Minister expressed his hope that ‘‘the said statement of the President will not affect, and will not damage the extremely positive historical relationship dynamics between Georgia and China.’’
Irakli Gharibashvili, who visited China in July 2023, and the President of the People's Republic of China agreed on a strategic partnership.
