"We didn’t lose a trail. We were about to go down the ridge when we encountered a bear approximately 200 meters away. After that, we went through the forest and walked for five days. Both of us lost the battery on our phones. We spent the night in a tent," Gogita Parjiani said in an interview with Mtavari Arkhi.
The young people traveled from Zemo Svaneti to Kvemo Svaneti, heading towards Lentekhi on Sunday, July 21. They were crossing Lasilli Pass on a hiking route. According to their relatives, Gogita Parjiani and Giorgi Gvichiani were last heard from on Monday, July 22, when they sent messages saying they had lost the road.
The search for the missing persons in the areas of Mestia and Lentekhi continued for two days. A helicopter was also involved in the rescue operation today. However, the young people managed to find their way out of the forest on their own.
