On May 17, which has been designated as a day of family sanctity and respect for parents for the Orthodox, a holiday will be observed. Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has issued the relevant resolution.

The resolution applies to administrative bodies, encompassing all state or municipal bodies/institutions, legal entities under public law, as well as any other entity exercising public legal powers.
“The administrative body shall identify the services/employees under its authority or included in its system to whom this resolution shall not apply, if their functions are urgently necessary for the implementation of state power and the normal functioning of society.
This resolution does not apply to financial obligations of persons under the supervision of the National Bank of Georgia.
This resolution does not apply to activities related to state procurement as provided by the Law of Georgia "On State Procurement," including the activities of the council for reviewing disputes related to procurements and state procurements outlined in subsection "A.T" of the first paragraph of Article 3 of the same law," as stated in the government's resolution.
On May 17, a procession is scheduled to take place in Tbilisi in connection with the Day of Family Sanctity. According to information from the Public Relations Service of the Patriarchate, the procession will commence at 13:00 after the chapel celebration at the Church of St. George in Kashueti, leading to the Patriarchal Church of the Most Holy Trinity.
