According to the de facto committee, 52-year-old Khvicha Korinteli was arrested on November 24 for illegally crossing the border. Korinteli allegedly deliberately crossed the state border under the influence of alcohol.
“Korinteli fully admitted his guilt and repented of what he had committed. Taking into account the detainee's health condition and humane considerations, he was expelled from the Republic on December 5,” the de facto committee says.
6 citizens of Georgia remain in illegal detention of the occupation regime. Among them are Dimitri Korinteli and Giorgi Meladze, who were abducted together with Khvicha Korinteli from Adzvi village of Gori municipality on November 24. The representatives of the occupation forces kidnapped them from the village church, which ended up beyond the occupation line.
Lasha Khetereli, Petre Kalashnikov, Giorgi Darchiashvili, and Giorgi Mosiashvili remain in Tskhinvali prison.
Lasha Khetereli, displaced from Liakhvi valley, has been detained by the occupation regime for the eighth time. Finally, on July 5, he was arrested near the occupied village of Disev. Before that, Khetereli spent more than a year in illegal detention in Tskhinvali prison. He has relatives in the occupied territory. Since the 2008 war, he has been living in Shaumiani IDP settlement.
On October 31, 2023, Russian soldiers kidnapped Giorgi Mosiashvili, village Perevi resident, from the vicinity of Sinaguri village.
