‘’What is particularly disappointing is that USAID funding is behind all this. We will need to hear explanations from our friendly state regarding this. We will not allow a revolution or a second front,’’ - this is how the chairman of the ruling party Georgian Dream Irakli Kobakhidze responded to the statement issued by the State Security Service on October 2. SSSG said today that the members of the Canvas organization operating in Serbia, which trained young people, civil activists, and non-governmental organizations in Georgia for the planned coup in October-December, arrived at the invitation of the USAID program.

‘’I watched the SSSG briefing. These people at first tried to hide the real purpose of their visit. They said they had meetings and training with the representatives of the cultural sphere, but in fact, it turned out that their goal was to prepare the ground for revolution, which is alarming.
What's more disturbing is that, as it turned out, all this is financed by the US and their International Development Agency, namely USAID; the literal translation of the acronym is American aid, and I don’t think this is aid.
In light of this, we will of course need some clarifications, as to why such training was financed by USAID, the direct purpose of which was to prepare for the revolution in Georgia.
First, there was Ackerman training, then there was the "Franklin Club", and a number of other activities related to extremist forces. Now this training, where revolutionary movements are discussed. It was pointed out that the title of these trainings is non-violent activism, but in fact, you see that they are talking about violent methods that must be used in order to organize a revolution. The scenario goes - chaos, revolution, and the end goal of opening a second front, which they have not achieved since 2022, when the war in Ukraine started. However, it seems that they haven't given up on this goal, they are still pursuing it, and that's why we are seeing such processes.
It can be said unequivocally that, of course, the state will not allow this. Georgia is a sovereign, independent state and we will protect the peace and stability in our country and not let anyone drag us into anything. We will not allow a revolution or a second front,’’ said Kobakhidze.
