In France's early parliamentary elections, the left-wing alliance New Popular Front emerged victorious in the second round, securing 182 seats in the National Assembly. The centrist coalition led by President Emmanuel Macron came in second with 168 seats, while the far-right National Union under Marine Le Pen secured third place with 143 seats.

They were followed by the conservatives of the Republican Party, who secured 45 seats. The remaining mandates are held by independent MPs and representatives of smaller unions.
In the 577-member parliament, no political force managed to achieve a majority, which is 289 seats, necessitating the formation of a coalition government.
The New People's Front coalition brings together extreme left, communist, social-democratic forces, and greens. One of the alliance's leaders, Jean-Luc Melenchon, has already ruled out the possibility of forming a coalition between the left-wing parties and Macron's centrist bloc. He has called on French President Macron to independently form a government for the New People's Front.
President Emmanuel Macron has also repeatedly stated his unwillingness to form a coalition with left-wing forces, a stance he maintained throughout the pre-election campaign.
Similarly, the leaders of the National Union, Marine Le Pen and Jordan Bardella, have ruled out participating in a coalition government.
Following the announcement of the preliminary election results, Prime Minister Gabriel Attal declared his resignation. He cited the failure of President Macron's centrist coalition to secure a majority in the National Assembly as the reason for his decision. Attal indicated that he will remain as Prime Minister until a new government is formed.
In the first round of elections held a week prior, the National Union had secured first place and was anticipated to gain significant support in the second round. However, a coalition formed between the left-wing parties and Macron's camp successfully prevented the far-right from claiming victory.
Georgia's President Salome Zourabichvili responded to the election results.
"France chose Europe, democracy, and its dignity. Macron embodied the hope of his people, and they responded to this significant challenge with unprecedented mobilization. At this critical moment, the choice lies with the people." Zourabichvili later added that the election outcome represents a victory and hope for all in Europe who resist Russia's influence.
