Border guards in San Diego, California, have been instructed not to turn back citizens from more than 100 countries in the Eastern Hemisphere who enter the United States illegally from Mexico, following President Joe Biden's ban on asylum. As the Washington Examiner reports, six countries are exceptions, and Georgia is among them.

The government document obtained by the journalist refers to more than 100 countries in Africa, Asia, Australia, and Europe. San Diego is one of the nine regions where the Border Patrol operates along the Mexican border.
“Of the more than 100 countries in the Eastern Hemisphere, which includes Africa, Asia, Australia, and Europe, just citizens of six countries will not be admitted into the U.S. and allowed to seek asylum. Only adults from Georgia, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan will be referred to the U.S.,” the Washington Examiner wrote.
Citizens of other countries will be admitted to the USA with documents that oblige them to appear in court.
Based on the article, the leaked document contradicts senior Biden administration officials who said the restriction would also apply to migrants from Eastern Hemisphere countries who traveled to multiple countries without seeking asylum to enter the United States. They are called extra hemispheric migrants.
US President Joe Biden issued an executive order last week imposing new restrictions on illegal migrants trying to enter the US via the Mexican border. If caught, they will not be able to claim asylum and will be immediately sent back. The White House said the restriction is temporary and will be lifted as soon as the number of migrants returns to a safe and manageable level.
