The Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, Maxim Reshetnikov, is on a one-day “working visit” in the occupied Abkhazia. According to the administration of the de facto president, he is inspecting the sites, the construction or reconstruction of which is carried out with the financial assistance of Russia.

Maxim Reshetnikov and the so-called Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Abkhazia Christina Ozgan were in Bichvinta, where the construction of the hotel complex “Moscow Resort” is planned in the coming years. The cost of the project is 31 billion rubles, and according to Russian investors, it will accommodate more than 200,000 tourists annually.
The Russian minister also visited the energy facilities of Gagra, Gudauta, and Gulripshi. In particular, substations Alakhadzi - 110 KV in the village of Alakhadzi, Gagra district, Bzifi - 220 KV in Gudauta district, and Dranda - 110 KV in Gulripshi district.
Reshetnikov also visited Lake Ritsa. The video of the lake and mountain views was published on the Telegram channel by the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia.
The so-called working visit includes plans for Reshetnikov to meet with Abkhazia's de facto president Aslan Bzhania and Prime Minister Alexander Ankvab.
Maxim Reshetnikov also visited occupied Abkhazia in August 2022. In July 2023, in St. Petersburg, he signed the so-called agreement on the restoration of the Vladislav Ardzinba Sokhumi International Airport. According to Reshetnikov, the reconstruction of the airport is a historical event and will solve an important challenge for Russia – “relieve the two overloaded main entry points of Russian citizens into Abkhazia - the Sochi airport and the Adler checkpoint.”
