"They questioned me on the first day, then no one saw me again," Elena Chogovadze, the mother of the wounded courier, told reporters. "He thinks that the attacker is close to an influential person and that the police are protecting him."
Temo Sigua, 32 years old, was wounded on July 6 on Nutsubidze Street in Tbilisi while on duty. Based on available information, after delivering the order, a disgruntled customer demanded its return due to a missing bottle of beer.
"One bottle is missing, they said. He told them it was packed. ‘What am I supposed to do? Call Glovo; I'll hand over what they gave me’ he said. ‘Who do you think you are talking to?’ they said and cursed. Four of them came, but there was an argument with one of them. Then he pulled out a gun and suddenly shot him. One of them stood up, put him on the motorcycle, and told him to get out of here," recounts the wounded man's mother.
As the doctor at Khechinashvili Clinic says, the courier sustained gunshot wounds in both shins and ankles. Following surgery, his health condition is stable.
The incident is under investigation according to Article 120 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to intentional minor bodily harm. The family disputes claims that the young man was injured with a pneumatic weapon.
