“I would like to clarify – there were talks that 70 million GEL being spent on the concerts, of course, this could be from the budget, but we expect direct and indirect revenues. We can anticipate at least 100 million GEL, in addition to raising the country's awareness and prestige and so on. It is very important that we continue with this, and our young people, our audience, can expect other pleasant novelties, and I think this will be a very successful season overall”, Irakli Gharibashvili said.
As per the Prime Minister's decision, the Black Sea Arena, located within Shekvetili, is launching a large-scale campaign called Starring Georgia, the main goal of which is to promote the country and bolster its tourism, economic and cultural potential. The date and place of several events are already known as follows: Nile Rodgers & Chic / August 5 / Black Sea Arena; FKJ / August 6 / Black Sea Arena; Damian Lazarus / August 10 / The Social Space; The Killers / August 15 / Black Sea Arena; All Day I Dream / August 18 / The Social Space; Imagine Dragons / August 31 / Mikheil Meskhi Stadium.
Gharibashvili announced the concerts of world-class performers a few months ago. At the government meeting on November 28, 2022, he said that in order to promote tourism, the government set out a plan to bring top-shelf stars to the country within two years. “In June, July, August, and the beginning of September, concerts of these top-of-the-line artists will be held all over the country, both at stadiums and at the Black Sea Arena. We earmarked 70 million GEL for this purpose. We have the appropriate funds”.
