“It was an honour and privilege to serve my country’s National Interests for more than a decade and humbly contribute to its sovereignty and territorial integrity that go hand in hand with the European Union and EuroAtlantic quest! Georgia is Europe!” the diplomat writes.
Today, it was announced that David Solomonia, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, has resigned.
This follows the statement made by the illegitimate Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, on November 28, in which he declared that the Georgian Dream party will not raise the issue of opening negotiations with the European Union until the end of 2028, and will also refuse any budget grants from the European Union. The first person to resign after this announcement was Otar Berdzenishvili, the Ambassador of Georgia to Bulgaria.
Regarding the resignation of the ambassador and the criticism from Ministry of Foreign Affairs employees, Irakli Kobakhidze stated that "there is a problem of understanding what is read and heard." According to Kobakhidze, "under conditions of correct understanding of what was heard, no one should have felt the need to protest."
