Levan Mgaloblishvili, a deputy from Georgian Dream, has been appointed as the chairman of the government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia. He replaces Ruslan Abashidze, who announced his resignation at the beginning of September.

Mgaloblishvili presented the updated composition of the Cabinet of Ministers to the Supreme Council. Anzor Margiani will serve as his deputy. Davit Fatsatsia has been appointed as the Minister of Internally Displaced Persons, Davit Morgoshia as the Minister of Education and Culture, Lasha Kardava as the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Levan Tevzaya as the Minister of Finance and Economy, and Giorgi Dzigua as the Minister of Justice and Civil Integration of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia.
Levan Mgaloblishvili is a member of the Parliament of Georgia in its 9th and 10th convocations. He first became a deputy in October 2019 through the party list of Georgian Dream, and for the second time in January 2021. Since 2016, Mgaloblishvili has served as the executive secretary of the Abasha district for the ruling party.
From 2003 to 2005, and again from 2010 to 2013, Levan Mgaloblishvili worked in Tbilisi City Hall and Sakrebulo. In 2005-2006, he was in charge of Shuknishnebi (Light Signals) LLC under Tbilisi City Hall, and in 2008-2009, he was employed at the state publishing house Samshoblo.
As per to his property declaration, Levan Mgaloblishvili was born in Sokhumi.
