The Government of Georgia granted the Orthodox Church in Guria a total of 2982 square meters of non-agricultural land plots at a symbolic price of one GEL.

According to the decree signed by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on March 12, 929 square meters of land were allocated to the Orthodox Church in the village of Zemo Natanebi in Ozurgeti, and 849 square meters in the village of Naruja in the same municipality. Additionally, the Patriarchate received land plots of 345 and 859 square meters located in the Chokhatauri village of Guturi.
The Orthodox Church is required to pay the specified privatization amount, one GEL, within one month after signing the contract.
Ozurgeti and Chokhatauri municipalities are part of the Guria diocese, which is headed by Metropolitan Iosebi (Kikvadze).
The Georgian Orthodox Church owns more than 62 square kilometers of land. The Patriarchate is annually financed by 25 million GEL from the state budget.
