"The last point from which the phone call was made is on the Lentekhi side," said Viktor Japaridze, a deputy of the parliamentary majority.
The young people went from Zemo Svaneti to Kvemo Svaneti in the direction of Lentekhi on Sunday, July 21. They were crossing Lasilli Pass on a hiking route. As their relatives say, Gogita Parjiani and Giorgi Gvichiani were last seen on Monday, July 22. In their messages, they said that they had blocked the road.
"Rescue measures should be started much more actively. They have taken one loaf of bread and nuts with them. They are probably not in a good condition now, and every minute is important," says Ani Tserediani, a relative of one of the missing.
The Emergency Situations Management Service announced that a report on the loss of the two citizens was made to 112 on July 24. Yesterday, it was not possible to use the helicopter in the rescue operation "due to meteorological conditions."
In addition to rescuers, groups of volunteers are also participating in the search and rescue operation.
