"It was a challenging game, and we could have won in the end, so we are disappointed. Our team spirit shone through in these two games. I would like to thank the Georgian fans who attended the match and helped us showcase this Georgian spirit. The fans created an incredible atmosphere, and without them, we wouldn't have performed like this.
In such tournaments, we must maintain higher concentration. Our opponents won't forgive any lapses, as seen with the disallowed first goal and the Czech equalizer in the second instance. However, all is not lost yet; we have our third match ahead, and the battle continues," stated Mamardashvili, who blocked 11 shots today and was named the match's best player by UEFA.
The only goal for Georgia came from Giorgi Mikautadze, who scored a penalty. Towards the end of the game, Georgia had a chance to win, but Saba Lobzhanidze missed the goal. Earlier, Anzor Mekvabishvili also had an opportunity to score.
The national team's next match will take place on June 26 in Gelsenkirchen against one of the championship favorites, Portugal.
