Medvedev Warns Russia will Absorb Abkhazia and South Ossetia

The Russian law of the Georgian Dream party threatens independent media and civil society organizations and hinders Georgia from joining the European Union.

Russian law establishes Putin's rules in Georgia, which has eliminated free speech in Russia.

When you are oppressed, there will be no one to cover your problem and stand by you.

Georgian News will resist the Russian intention of the Georgian Dream to the end!

‘’There are renewed talks on Georgia’s possible admission to NATO. Russophobia has exploded in that country. We don’t need a repeat of 2008. We are ready to sit down at the negotiating table, in the spirit of the UN Charter, to solve the problems. But if our concerns take a serious form, we will not hesitate,’’ wrote the former President of Russia, Deputy Secretary of the Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev in the article published in Argumenty I Fakty.

According to his statement, the idea of merging Abkhazia and South Ossetia with Russia is still popular, and well within the possibility to materialize, if sufficient grounds arise.

On August 26, 2008, Russia’s then-president Dmitry Medvedev signed decrees recognizing the so-called independence of Russian-occupied Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

‘’For the majority of the population of Georgia, it is much more comfortable to live in peace with our state. Russia is nearby, America is overseas. For Georgia, a country with the richest culture, which is intertwined with Russia by thousands of threads, Russophobia is stupid, ugly, a serious illness. Fortunately, it is completely curable,’’ says Medvedev.

In the article, he also touches on the ongoing war in Ukraine and claims that the war in Ukraine will end with Kyiv's defeat, as well as the ‘’Georgian aggressor's’’ in its own time.

‘’It is already clear how the war that NATO is waging against us, at the hands of the Kyiv regime in Ukraine, will end. It will be a full-scale failure of Kyiv, as it happened in the case of the Georgian aggressors. In the future, it is quite possible that it [Ukraine] will disappear from the political map of the world, a state created artificially after the collapse of the Soviet Union, and of course, those bloody clowns who are now crying with crocodile tears will shamefully exit the political scene,’’ says Medvedev.
