The press spokesman of the U.S. State Department, Matthew Miller, responded to the statement made by the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, who claimed that the so-called Global War Party is behind the attack on former U.S. President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

At the July 15 briefing, a journalist first asked Miller to assess the reaction that followed the events in Russia on Saturday. The Kremlin had claimed that the Biden administration created the "atmosphere" that provoked the attack.
"These are incredibly irresponsible comments from the Kremlin ... absolutely untrue," said Matthew Miller.
According to the journalist, similar comments were being made in Georgia, where the Prime Minister stated that the Global War Party was behind the incident.
"I don't even know what that means. Law enforcement officials spoke about the investigation, what they know and what they don't know. As I understand it, they will continue to publish the results of this investigation as long as it lasts.
Just as the President, in his Oval Office speech, asked the American public to refrain from speculation, from making irresponsible statements before knowing the facts. I think I would extend the same appeal to foreign countries as well," said Matthew Miller.
Irakli Kobakhidze responded to the attack on Trump with two statements. In a Georgian-language statement published on the Facebook social network, he linked the attack to the Global War Party. The Global War Party does not change its methods. In the 21st century, liberal fascism, radicalism, polarization, hatred, and bloody attacks on politicians have become commonplace in America and Europe," Kobakhidze wrote. However, he did not mention the Global War Party in the English-language text published on social network X.
The attack on Donald Trump took place on July 13 in Pennsylvania during a meeting with supporters as part of his presidential campaign. Trump was hit by a bullet in the upper part of the ear. According to the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the attacker was 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, who was killed. As a result of the attack, one citizen was killed while covering his family during the shooting, and two others were injured. The FBI is investigating the incident as attempted murder.
President Joe Biden condemned the violence against his election rival and called on Americans to reject violence in politics. "In America, we settle our differences at the ballot box, not with bullets," he said. Biden also noted that the investigation has yet to make any concrete conclusions about the attacker's motives, suggesting that in the absence of reliable facts, many false claims and conspiracy theories have begun to circulate on the Internet.
