People's Power’ Members in the parliamentary majority are stating that the government should not hold meetings with the foreign ministers of EU member states and the US assistant secretary of state, who are visiting Georgia amidst the backdrop of the developments surrounding the Russian Law. Furthermore, today People's Power declared that the ruling party should deliberate on whether these politicians merit entry into Georgia.

People's Power stated that although these individuals officially announce that the purpose of their visit to Georgia is to support the country's "Western course," it is well-known that they openly support the oppositional National Movement and criticize the Georgian government.
The foreign ministers of Lithuania (Gabrielius Landsbergis), Estonia (Margus Tsahkna), Iceland (Gudlaugur Thor Thordarson), and Latvia (Baiba Braze) are scheduled to visit Georgia. Additionally, Michael Roth, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the German Bundestag, and Zygimantas Pavilionis, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Lithuanian Seimas, are already in Tbilisi and are meeting with representatives of the opposition and non-governmental organizations today. The visit of US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs James O'Brien is planned for May 14.
People's Power, characterized by anti-Western messages, claims that their goal is to promote the radicalization of processes, polarize society, and support the radical opposition.
"When the draft law on foreign transparency was initiated in the Parliament of Georgia, it was immediately stated that one of the main goals of the law is to strengthen the country's sovereignty. This spirit is directly contradicted by the statements made by foreign politicians regarding the transparency law, whose aim is to increase radicalism and unwarranted interference in the country's internal affairs.
We believe that the highest officials of the Georgian government should refrain from meeting with politicians who have come to destroy our country. Moreover, when we know for sure that the main goal of the statements made by them against the government of Georgia in the last two years is to involve our country in the war and open a second front against Russia, the government should discuss whether these politicians deserve to be allowed into the country," said People’s Power.
The public movement People's Power, founded two years ago by deputies fictitiously separated from Georgian Dream, was transformed into a political party in March 2024. MP Sozar Subari was elected as its chairman.
At the beginning of 2023, Georgian Dream introduced the draft law on Foreign Agents to the parliament with the help of People's Power. They had to give it up soon due to public protests and international pressure. A year later, Georgian Dream presented the Russian Law again, and it was passed in two readings.
