Based on the changes made in the order of the Georgian Internal Affairs Minister, individuals seeking to purchase or register a gas weapon must submit consent from the relevant territorial body of the Internal Affairs Ministry, depending on the place of storage or registration of the weapon, to the service agency.

Based on the written application of the interested person and the study of the relevant circumstances, the relevant territorial body of the Internal Affairs Ministry makes a written decision to grant consent or refuse to give consent.
According to the minister's order, the non-appearance or refusal of the person summoned to the police administrative building, and/or the refusal of the authorized person to come to the person's place of residence or weapon storage, is the basis for refusing to give consent.
Gas weapons are considered defensive weapons under the Law of Georgia On Weapons, intended for the temporary incapacitation of a living object with tear or irritating substances.
Recently, there has been a significant increase in the sale of gas guns, as government-sponsored violence near homes and on the streets has escalated, prompting people to seek means to defend themselves.
