"The President of Georgia will attend today's public celebration and will confer honors upon the members of the national football team and representatives of the National Football Federation.
Honors and medals will be presented to all individuals nominated for state awards in recognition of their historic sporting achievement - reaching the final stage of the 2024 European Football Championship - and their significant personal contributions to the advancement of Georgian football to new heights,” The President's administration stated.
The event, organized by the government administration in honor of the national football team, will commence at 22:00 at Freedom Square. Prior to this, starting from 21:30, the football players will embark on an open bus journey from the Mikheil Meskhi Stadium, proceeding via Chavchavadze Avenue to arrive at Freedom Square.
"All players will gather on stage, where they will address the fans and the national anthem of Georgia will be performed. The evening will conclude with a spectacular fireworks display, symbolizing our gratitude to our esteemed football players," stated the government administration.
The Georgian national team returned from Germany this morning, July 2. Despite being welcomed by fans at Tbilisi International Airport, they were unable to be seen by the players.
