In the case of the murder of 21-year-old Keti Javakhishvili in Lilo settlement in Tbilisi, a man known to her was arrested. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Otar Tsindelian is charged with intentional murder committed with extreme cruelty, which is punishable by 16 to 20 years or life imprisonment.

The investigation established that the defendant, Otar Tsindelian, born in 2003, inflicted a fatal wound on Keti Javakhishvili using a cold weapon during a dispute and then fled the scene.
The police arrested the person accused of murder in Zugdidi municipality.
Since the beginning of 2024, this is the third high-profile case of a woman being murdered in Georgia. Georgian News reported that more than 200 women were killed in Georgia between 2014 and 2023. According to the Prosecutor's Office data, 195 women were killed between 2014 and 2022. In January-June 2023, 13 cases of femicide were recorded.
