The Republican Party of the United States has officially nominated Donald Trump as its candidate for the November presidential election. The party convention, held in Milwaukee over three days, concluded with the 78-year-old Trump addressing the assembled delegates. In his speech, Trump announced that he accepts the nomination and is running for the presidency not just of half, but of the whole country.

"The discord and division in our society must be healed. I am running to be President for all of America, not half of America, because there is no victory in winning for half of America," Trump said.
Donald Trump also addressed the attack on him that occurred on July 13 and thanked Americans for their love and support. He continued his traditional criticism of President Joe Biden’s administration, asserting that the world is on the brink of World War III. Trump promised voters that he will resolve all international crises, including the war in Ukraine and Russia, although he did not specify how.
"War is now raging in Europe and the Middle East, a growing specter of conflict hangs over Taiwan, Korea, the Philippines, and all of Asia, and our planet is teetering on the edge of World War Three. And this will be a war like no other.
I will end every single international crisis that the current administration has created - including the horrible war with Russia and Ukraine - which would have never happened if I were president - and the war caused by the attack on Israel - which would have never happened if I were president,” Trump stated in his final speech.
During the convention, Donald Trump nominated 39-year-old Ohio State Senator J.D. Vance as his vice-presidential candidate.
Trump’s opponent in the 2024 presidential election is Democrat Joe Biden, who is being urged to withdraw his candidacy. The 81-year-old incumbent president is currently suffering from Covid-19 and is in self-isolation.
According to the Washington Post, former President Barack Obama has advised allies that Biden should seriously reconsider his re-election bid, noting that his chances of winning are greatly diminished." Joe Biden served as vice president under Barack Obama.
President Biden denies concerns about his age and health and states that he has no plans to withdraw his candidacy.
Billionaire businessman and Republican Donald Trump was previously president of the United States from 2017 to 2020. He ran again in the November 2020 election but lost to Biden. Trump has claimed that the election was rigged and thus refuses to admit defeat.
