The President of Ukraine has not yet commented on the personnel changes.
On February 24, 2022, after Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the outbreak of war, Danilov made a statement about Russia's so-called second fronts, which was criticized by the Georgian authorities.
"If Transnistria and Georgia were currently engaged in reclaiming their territories, and moreover, if Poland had not yet officially claimed the Kaliningrad region, it would certainly help us, because then the Russians would have other tasks besides destroying our cities and villages, and killing our children and women," Danilov said on March 26, 2022.
Oleksi Danilov has held the position of Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine since 2019.
From 1994 to 1997, Danilov served as the mayor of Lugansk, and in 2005, he headed the administration of the Lugansk district. In 2006, he became a deputy of the Ukrainian parliament from Yulia Tymoshenko's bloc.
