The bodies of 12 people were discovered in a bedroom on the second floor of an Indian restaurant in Gudauri. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, an initial examination revealed no signs of violence.

As per preliminary information from the investigation, a generator was placed in an enclosed space near the bedrooms and was reportedly turned on yesterday following a power outage at the facility.
Eleven of the deceased are foreign nationals, while one is a citizen of Georgia.
The investigation into the case has been initiated under Article 116 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to negligent homicide.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, expert criminologists are working at the scene, and interviews with those involved in the case are ongoing. A forensic medical examination has been scheduled to determine the exact cause of death.
