“I beat him” – Attacks on Mshvildadze and Japaridze Confessed on Social Media Using Similar Text

The Russian law of the Georgian Dream party threatens independent media and civil society organizations and hinders Georgia from joining the European Union.

Russian law establishes Putin's rules in Georgia, which has eliminated free speech in Russia.

When you are oppressed, there will be no one to cover your problem and stand by you.

Georgian News will resist the Russian intention of the Georgian Dream to the end!

Citizen Nikoloz Gugeshashvili has claimed responsibility for the attack on one of Formula TV founders, Misha Mshvildadze, in the same manner, and words as the attacker of Zurab Japaridze, leader of Girchi – More Freedom, a few days ago.

Misha Mshvildadze was attacked on the evening of June 27, as he was walking alone on the street and entering the supermarket. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has started an investigation under Article 126 (violence) of the Criminal Code, although it is not yet known whether the culprit has been arrested.

“I am Nikoloz Gugeshashvili, from Gldani, a father of four. Yesterday, I was at Vazha-Pshavela Street, near Carrefour supermarket, where I beat Misha Mshvildadze. The reason for the assault was that he refers to the church as criminals, says that a cross is a symbol of violence, swears at the patriarch, Georgian nation, and protects homosexuals, also, insults me and my friends from Facebook. I am not going to hide,’’ writes Nikoloz Gugeshashvili on social media.

On June 17, Soso Maisuradze, who was later arrested on charges of violence against Zurab Japaridze, published an identical text on the social network and is currently in pretrial detention. Soso Maisuradze physically assaulted Zurab Japaridze in the parking lot of the “Smart” supermarket located on the highway of Gori.

“I am Soso Maisuradze, from Gori. I beat Zura Japaridze. I beat him for the perversion of my children, insulting the patriarch and the church, and for when they showed bare asses to the enemy. I’m not going to hide. I am at my friend’s in Gori and using his Facebook page,” wrote Soso Maisuradze.

Both Soso Maisuradze and Nikoloz Gugeshashvili tagged the Ministry of Internal Affairs at the end of their posts.

A few days ago, the litterateur Levan Berdzenishvili was also attacked in Tbilisi. The incident happened on Chavchavadze Avenue when Berdzenishvili exited Ilia State University and was walking towards the car. An unknown man threw eggs at him and called him a “traitor”.

Attacks on people who are critical of the ruling party's policies are likely organized in advance.

“Nothing like this has happened in years. The attack was exactly as planned, prepared, and coordinated by government-run punitive special forces as in previous attacks on others. There are similar signs here. They don't shy away from the cameras, because they know that they will receive lenient treatment later - they will receive a light sentence. It's the same story,” says Misha Mshvildadze.
