"Obviously, it is regrettable that there has been a postponement, despite our repeated statements affirming the readiness of the Georgian government for cooperation and friendship. Such relationships must be mutual and cannot be one-sided, in order to further deepen these ties. We anticipate a change in these approaches and attitudes," stated Kaladze.
As he said, there is no instance where the Georgian government has altered its foreign policy stance.
"You cannot provide a single example of a change in the Georgian government's stance. Such occurrences simply do not exist. This is hypocrisy. There is no instance where Georgia's stance has shifted.
We have consistently emphasized that there is not a single example of the Georgian government taking undemocratic, non-European actions. Since 2012, all substantial progress towards European integration has been spearheaded by Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia," Kaladze asserted.
The General Secretary of Georgian Dream also underscored that Georgia is an independent, sovereign state and "cannot be subservient to anyone":
"No one will be allowed to dictate to the Georgian government to take actions that we know from the outset would pose challenges for our country and its people. We recall calls for sanctions, the creation of a second front, and the release of Saakashvili. Such approaches are incorrect. Hence, deepening relations, resetting ties, and continuing cooperation as usual are crucial."
The US Department of Defense indefinitely postponed the planned military training Noble Partner with Georgia. According to the Pentagon „The decision to postpone this iteration of NOBLE PARTNER is due to the Georgian government's false accusations against the United States and other western entities, to pressure Georgia to open a second front against Russia to alleviate pressure on Ukraine, and of participating in two coup attempts against the ruling party.”
Noble Partner was scheduled to take place from July 25 to August 6, 2024. As President Salome Zourabichvili says, Georgian Dream jeopardizes the "strategic partnership, which is built on strengthening our defense forces and aligning them with NATO standards."
The United States initiated a comprehensive review of bilateral cooperation with Georgia after the Georgian Dream government adopted Russian Law on so-called Foreign Agents and dispersed protests, despite criticism from its allies.
