In Sukhumi, a shooting occurred near the de facto parliament building in occupied Abkhazia, injuring the so-called MPs Kan Kvarchia and Vakhtang Golandzia. According to local media, another so-called MP, Adgur Kharazia, who fled the scene, is suspected of carrying out the shooting.

Vakhtang Golandzia succumbed to injuries initially classified as non-life-threatening.

"Two patients were brought to the Republican Hospital. Patient Golandzia arrived in a state of clinical death. We immediately transferred him to the intensive care unit and initiated emergency resuscitation measures, but unfortunately, our efforts were in vain. The patient passed away. Patient Kvarchia was also admitted with a gunshot wound to the left shoulder and an injury to the scalp. He is currently in the operating room, where a team of surgeons is working on him," the hospital’s chief physician stated.

According to one of the Abkhazian Telegram channels, the de facto parliament was discussing a bill to ban mining today. During the session, an argument broke out between Adgur Kharazia and Kan Kvarchia, during which Kharazia pulled out a gun and began shooting. Reports indicate that the deceased, Vakhtang Golandzia, was a rescuer.
