The pro-Russian, homophobic party Conservative Movement/Alt Info has registered as an electoral entity and will participate in the parliamentary elections scheduled for October 26.

To obtain the right to participate in the elections, Alt Info submitted the signatures of more than 50,000 voters to the Central Election Commission at the end of March. It is clear from the document published by one of the leaders of the party, Konstantine Morgoshia, that 25,119 signatures were indeed counted, which is enough for the registration of the party as an electoral entity.

"Under the conditions of systemic pressure, Conservative Movement/Alt-Info successfully passed the electoral registration and gained the status of an electoral entity to participate in the 2024 elections. Congratulations, fellow soldiers. The struggle is always worth it. Thanks to all the people who trusted us. A big victory is waiting for us," Morgoshia said.

Alt Info founded the party at the end of 2021. On July 5 of the same year, a violent group organized an action against the March of Dignity announced by Tbilisi Pride, which turned into large-scale violence against journalists and civil activists. Two years later, in July 2023, Alt Info also disrupted the Pride Festival planned in private territory. The organizers of the violence were not held accountable.

At the end of 2023, after Georgia was granted the status of a candidate country for EU membership, members and supporters of Alt Info started a campaign to burn EU flags.

Alt Info/Conservative Movement received 577,034 GEL in donations in 2022, 36,634 in 2023, and 1,045 GEL this year. The party has been fined 217,482 GEL by the court for hiding a non-monetary donation. Alt Info also owns a television station, which Konstantine Morgoshia's pensioner aunt finances every month with hundreds of thousands of GEL.
