The United National Movement chairman and Parliament Member, Levan Khabeishvili, was physically assaulted during the protest against the Russian Law. As the politician said, the deliberate attack against him was carried out by Zviad Kharazishvili, also known as Khareba, the Special Tasks Department director. "There are eyewitnesses to the kidnapping of Levan Khabeishvili. He attempted to assist a young person affected by the special forces' actions. Previously, Khabeishvili was verbally abused as part of a group, but now he has been kidnapped and punished as a demonstration. According to our information, he was beaten, placed in a patrol car, taken to the clinic, and left there. We do not know which team transported Levan or who handed him over to them," stated Levan Bezhashvili, National Movement member. He demands that the Internal Affairs Minister be held accountable for the incident and that an investigation be launched against Zviad Kharazishvili.
The Internal Affairs Ministry arrested 63 people at the rally against the Russian Law. The ministry used pepper spray, water cannons, and tear gas to disperse the peaceful protest, resulting in injuries to dozens of people.
