His mother, Nora Begheluri, was informed by the State Security Service of Georgia about the prison sentence for Ramaz Begheluri.
"We have worked a lot on this issue and we will continue to work so that maybe he will be released on time. Ramaz is sick; he is on daily medication. If he doesn't take his medicine, he will have a seizure," Nora Begheluri told the Mtavari Arkhi.
40-year-old Ramaz Begheluri is in the illegal detention of the occupying forces for the fifth time. His last arrest took place at the end of April, on the eve of the Easter holiday. The State Security Service of Georgia announced on April 29 that a citizen of Georgia was arrested in the vicinity of the illegally occupied village of Disevi. According to his family and fellow villagers, Ramaz Begheluri was caught while cleaning his brother's grave at the village cemetery.
Ramaz Begheluri was arrested by the occupation regime on February 2, 2021. On March 31, the Tskhinvali court recognized him as a so-called border violator and sentenced him to one year of probation. After two months of illegal imprisonment, he was released on April 1 and handed over to representatives of the central government of Georgia. According to family members, not a month had passed since his release when Ramaz Begheluri fell into a coma and was diagnosed with epilepsy.
Currently, 8 citizens of Georgia remain in the illegal custody of the Tskhinvali regime. On June 5, the Russian media reported that the so-called court found 35-year-old Giorgi Mosiashvili guilty of illegally crossing the "border" and sentenced him to two years of imprisonment. Giorgi Mosiashvili, a resident of Perevi village in Sachkhere, was kidnapped on October 31, 2023, from the area surrounding the occupied village of Sinaguri.
