Russia's Claims of a Color Revolution Are Categorically False, Miller Says

The Russian law of the Georgian Dream party threatens independent media and civil society organizations and hinders Georgia from joining the European Union.

Russian law establishes Putin's rules in Georgia, which has eliminated free speech in Russia.

When you are oppressed, there will be no one to cover your problem and stand by you.

Georgian News will resist the Russian intention of the Georgian Dream to the end!

The spokesperson for the U.S. State Department, Matthew Miller, called the statement by Russian foreign intelligence "categorically false," denying that the United States is preparing a "color revolution" in Georgia.

"The allegations are categorically false. We have a proud record of working together with the people of Georgia to build a more peaceful, prosperous, democratic Georgia. The Kremlin orchestrated the 2008 invasion and today occupies 20% of sovereign Georgian territory, while continuing its brutal war of aggression against Ukraine. We stand with Georgia against Russia’s aggression," the journalist quoted Matthew Miller on the X social network.

A few days ago, Russian foreign intelligence announced that the U.S. is preparing a color revolution in Georgia. State propaganda media, citing the intelligence service's press center, reported that "the White House is extremely dissatisfied with the situation in Georgia ahead of the October 26 parliamentary elections."

According to Russian intelligence, pro-Western Georgian NGOs are recruiting large numbers of volunteers to closely monitor the voting process. "They are tasked with identifying and recording the “inevitable facts.” It is planned to publish evidence of voter fraud, refuse to recognize the election results, and demand a change of government on “Tbilisi Maidan.” According to the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, law enforcement agencies will be provoked to suppress the protest by force."

Sergei Naryshkin, director of the Foreign Intelligence Service, stated that the "obtained information" was made public to allow Russia to contribute to preventing attempts at color revolutions in Georgia.

Since coming to power, Georgian Dream has been talking about possible revolutions in Georgia, the overthrow of the government by violent means, and "provoking events similar to the civil conflict of the 90s." They consistently warn the public of potential riots and bloodshed. None of the cases that the State Security Service has investigated have been resolved. A month ago, the State Security Service also claimed that an assassination attempt on Bidzina Ivanishvili was being planned in Georgia. Before that, this information was spread by government propaganda channels. During the pre-election meetings of Georgian Dream held in August, Ivanishvili, unlike other party leaders, stood at a separate podium and was protected by bulletproof glass.
