The US Senate has supported the appointment of Robin Dunnigan as the ambassador to Georgia. She will replace Kelly Degnan, who has been serving since 2020.

Prior to her appointment as Ambassador, Dunnigan served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of State at the US State Department's Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs.
Prior to that, she was Charge d’Affaires and Deputy Head of Mission at the Austrian Embassy.
At various times she held the position of Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Bureau of Energy and worked at the US Embassies in Vietnam, Chile, Turkey, Cuba, and El Salvador.
Robin Dunnigan is from California. She received the degree of Master of Science in National War College. In addition, she holds a Master of Science degree from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Berkeley. She speaks English, Spanish, and German.
US President Joe Biden nominated Robin Dunnigan for the position of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the USA to Georgia on February 13.
During the Senate hearing, Dunnigen said she would focus on four priorities, including Georgia’s European integration and deepening Georgia-US economic relations.
