According to the TV company, the camera crew was preparing a story in Supsa and, shortly before the attack, had been working at the police station.
"We were in the center when a person arrived in a car, verbally abused us, and started swearing at the 'main channel' and certain individuals. We ignored him because we knew what we were dealing with. Then he got out of the car and continued to swear at us. Despite our efforts to ignore him, he approached, spat in my face, and hit me. I grabbed his hand and pushed him towards the car. At that moment, four more people joined us, apparently prepared for the situation. They physically assaulted us and smashed the camera," says Lado Menabde.
The correspondent from the Mtavari Arkhi reports that the attackers injured his head, prompting him to call for emergency medical help.
